1111 Newsletter bark EUROPA November 2011

We are pleased to send you the latest issue of our newsletter. The ship has just left Salvador, Brazil and according to the log book the wind has finally changed into the right direction. In the mean time here in the Netherlands we are waiting for the real winter weather. To get in the mood for the upcoming winter holiday season we have selected some perfect gifts available in our new webshop. Next to that we are happy to announce the sailing schedule for spring and summer 2012. Last but not least you will find an update on our donation to the Oceanites organization.

Shop is Open!
As of today it is possible to order your favourite T-Shirt, Polo or Hoodie through our webshop. It is now possible for you to order your Bark EUROPA souvenir on shore as well as on board. Please visit the shop and send in your order form.

Art Box and Calendar
For your Christmas shopping please check out our webshop as well! Surprise your family or friends with one of the 100 Art Boxes from our limited edition or give them a Bark EUROPA birthday calendar. Perfect to keep track of all the birthdays of family and friends! The prints in the Art Box as well as the drawings in the Calendar are made by Maarten Groot.

 

Spring and Summer 2012
We are pleased to announce the new sailing schedule for Spring and Summer 2012. The voyage from Cape Town northbound is becoming a familiar route for EUROPA. On the leg from Cape Town to Ascension Island we hope the ship can make a stopover at St. Helena. After the stop in Ascension Island the voyage goes on to Horta, Azores. The final destination of this long ocean voyage will be St. Malo, France.

Tall Ships Races 2012
St. Malo is the first hosting port for the Tall Ships Races 2012 series. The Bark EUROPA will join the first Races and Cruises in Company but will say good bye to the fleet in A Coruna when the ship sets sail to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Donation Oceanites
The Bark EUROPA donates EUR 15,- to Oceanites per Antarctic booking during this Centennial year. Research foundation Oceanites is active on Antarctica. This science and educational foundation intends to foster the conservation of the world’s oceans, islands, and their wildlife, as well as a better appreciation of the sensitive connections we humans have to our watery globe. The foundation researches different penguin colonies who live on Antarctica. Until now the Bark EUROPA has donated USD 2960,- to this special charity. A big thank you to all Antarctic trainees!
