Sail destinations
Do you want to experience how a team of sailors sets the right course together? How the wind clears your mind and soul? How sailing ships used to conquer the oceans? How time moves at a different speed on board? It is time to experience life on board EUROPA. Whether you choose for an expedition to Antarctica, an ocean crossing, Transatlantic voyage or a voyage more close to home EUROPA will show you Tall Ships Sailing as it is supposed to be. Depending on EUROPA's sailing schedule our voyages vary from several days to a few months. Furthermore EUROPA regularly participates in Tall Ships Races, primarily focussed on youth from 15-25 years of age. Of course it is possible to join EUROPA for more then one voyage.
General information
Embarkation and boarding instructions
Generally speaking we ask you to join the EUROPA at the embarkation date at 17.00 hrs local time. After your arrival on board the captain and crew will introduce their selves and you will be able to familiarize with the ship. The sails will be set next morning.
Ports of call
Depending on the sailing schedule the ports of call during our voyages are planned before departure. However weather, amount of time, area in which the ship is sailing and the desires of the trainees on board EUROPA can be of influence of which ports of call she will be visiting.
Life on board
The crew will try to involve you as much as possible in running and sailing the ship. You can steer, navigate, take duties, be lookout, climb the masts, set sail, brace, do rope and canvas work and bake bread. Even without any sailing experience!
Because the EUROPA will let you relive the atmosphere of the merchantmen of the beginning of the twentieth century, you will temporarily feel as if you are in a different world, provided with all the present comforts. On one hand you can enjoy the sight of her 30 sails being set and the tapping of the water against the bow and on the other hand you can relax and read a book in the library. Altogether it will give you an unforgettable experience!
Food
The cook and assistant prepare three nutritious meals per day. Meals, the warm snacks, coffee, tea and milk are included. EUROPA also has a bar on board, however drinks that are consumed from the bar are not included in the price.
